Time for a change in lifestyle By Wendy

4 years ago I was overweight suffering anxiety attacks. I decided to change my life, I got a new job and set myself a goal to complete a sprint triathlon. I could do the bike leg I had been cycling for a few years, I thought I could swim, how wrong can you be. (that will be a later blog), but run !!!!!!! how was I going to run 5k???

I was that kid who hated sports at school and used to take short cuts on the road running routes we did in games, now I wanted to run 5k. That was never going to happen, or so I thought. Maybe this wasn't a challenge I could complete. However I had a husband and 2 friends who believed in me and encouraged me every step of the way.

Running club October 2016 - When I went to a local running club on a cold Monday evening, if you'd have told me that I'd still be going 4 years later I don't think I'd have believed you. That night I did the 2 mile route. No I didn't run it in fact I walked most of it and struggled to run from one lamppost to the next. This started my addiction with exercise.

January 2017 - I completed my 1st 10k in Liverpool
October 2018- I completed my 1st half marathon
planned September 2020 - I have entered my 1st 20 mile race.

The voice in your head will tell you you can't do this, BUT YOU CAN !!!!! I am proof of this, I am slow but who cares I'm out there doing more than a lot of people.
