Shine like a Star 8 - August

Regular entry price £12.00 Special Offer

This August we are celebrating Perseids, perhaps the most popular meteor shower of the year, with our shine like a star 8 challenge.  We will be completing when its dark so that we can make the most of the (hopefully) spectacular view and perhaps making a wish on a shooting star for a PB.

This year, according to NASA meteor expert Bill Cooke, during the Perseids at it's peak people should see about 60-70 meteors per hour and he predicts meteor shower's peak will be visible both the nights of Aug. 11-12 and Aug. 12-13.  But you have the whole of August to complete your challenge.

We are leaving the 8 distance to your discretion - 8 miles or 8k, and you can run, walk, cycle, swim or TRI the challenge.

One session or several, you just need to complete a distance of 8 this August.

This Virtual Distance Challenge is throughout August
Please note you are paying to enter the Virtual Race.  The medal is a reward for completing the challenge and submitting evidence by the deadline date.

Entrants must commit to completing 8km or miles distance and that can either be a run, walk, cycle or tri.

We will even accept a combination of these, provided the complete distance is done during August.
Go on, virtually challenge yourself this Summer.

Charity - SHINE Cancer Support

Shine is the only UK charity that exists exclusively to support adults in their 20s, 30s and 40s who have experience a cancer diagnosis.

There is never a good time to have cancer, but we know that younger adults face different issues than their older or younger counterparts - and that many of these are not dealt with by traditional cancer support charities and services.

  • Our vision is that every adult in the UK living with cancer in their 20s, 30s or 40s can access the help and support that they need in a way that suits their lifestyle, and that they are a part of a confident, supportive and empowered community of young adults living with cancer.
  • Our mission is to provide tailored information and peer support for anyone in their 20s, 30s or 40s diagnosed with any cancer. We do this through a range of activities including lunches and drinks evenings, beach walks, multi-day getaways, workshops, online networking, and mentoring.

By entering this race and purchasing your place you agree to Virtual Racing UK's Terms of Service.
