They also provide a range of support and information for parents, children and young people and training for professionals. It campaigns for better access to, and quality of, health and education services, and to raise awareness and increase understanding of epilepsy.
A word from Community Member Victoria, who founded this fantastic group.
Our local volunteers help local children living with Epilepsy, our work includes raising awareness days in schools and liasing with our local Epilepsy support nurse. 1 in 5 school children are diagnosed with a form of Epilepsy and we want to raise awareness to ensure they get the best quality of life possible. We want to organise events so the youngsters can meet up and have a sense of belonging. I set the group up as my 12yr old son was diagnosed two years ago and we want to help other children deal with the difficulties this condition brings.
