The Armistice of 11 November 1918 was the armistice that ended fighting on land, sea and air in World War I between the Allies and their opponent, Germany.
To mark the centenary of the Armistice we have created this Armistice of 11 challenge, asking entrants to run, walk, cycle or swim 11 miles or 11 km. In one stint or multiple sessions throughout November.
This beautiful, sparkly, poppy loaded medal design is your reward for completing the challenge.
This Virtual Distance Challenge is throughout November which co-incides with Remembrance Sunday, which is 11th November... this year we will be observing our minute's silence on the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month.
Please note you are paying to enter the Virtual Race. The medal is a reward for completing the challenge and submitting evidence by the deadline date.
Go on, virtually challenge yourself this November.
All you need to do is sign up to the virtual race.
Currently it is estimated that there are more than 4,500 ex-service members of the British Armed Forces which are homeless throughout the UK and we are expecting this number to rise in the near future.
What We Do
We are focused on helping our ex-service personnel enjoy clean living environments - a place where they can feel at home. We also focus on helping them find a permanent home through social housing and assisting them with their application.
Our Outreach projects include helping ex-service personnel with food, clothing and advice. In addition to this, UK Homes 4 Heroes provides a counselling service to assist with a host of psychological disorders including PTSD. Find out more about what we do.
