The Rossendale Trust is a charity based in Cheshire which provides support to adults with learning and some physical disabilities. Through its services, the Trust aims to create an environment in which people can develop and grow, enabling them to have ownership of their lives, and futures.
We provide supported living accommodation to adults with learning disabilities enabling them to live as independently as possible, make choices and enjoy being a part of the communities around them.
The Trust also operates the Oakwood Day Service which offers a wide range of informal learning and leisure opportunities. The service offers choice and opportunity, within environments that encourage social interaction and integration into the local community. Running a variety of sessions like Arts & Crafts, Photography/Media, Fitness, Drama and walking groups and many more (over 350 sessions a week).
Our WorkTaste initiative provides individuals with an opportunity to gain experience and develop sills in a work-based environment. Working closely with local business and community projects, people are supported on a one to one basis by trained WorkTaste staff, enabling them to create a portfolio of skills and progress. Supporting over 25 individuals with a learning disability a week to access the world of work.
Fundraising is vital to the services we provide enabling us to grow and develop opportunities for the people that we care for, allowing us to meet their needs by supporting them to live a full and meaningful life.
